Butterflies A: Theory
Next class: TBA
Having trouble with the shape? Struggling with the ratio? Can’t quite crack the angles? Not sure how to edge them? Which brush to use? How to fit them on a small face?
I hope all your problems will be solved in our two Butterflies classes, designed to make your problems disappear and produce the most delicate, elegant butterflies possible!
In the first module, Butterflies A: Theory, we will closely observe and study the parts of this insect and discover the essential angles to create the perfect shape. We will cover the angle of the wings, the focal point, sponging bases, good colours, the best linework to use, the various different brushes, and numerous elements and embellishments to enhance your design.
You will finish the session feeling confident and with a thorough understanding of how to create your own style of butterfly on any child!
Following on from this class, you can take Butterflies B: Design. In this module I will show you as many different styles as I can fit in within the class, incorporating different elements, real butterflies, dots, teardrops, flowers, leaves, perhaps even mermaids. Using the theory and techniques from Butterflies A), you can then choose and adapt any of the styles to create your own designs.
We want you to be comfortable and relaxed so that you can enjoy our new online classes. Each class will last 2 hours, with time for questions and interaction. We’ll be using Zoom, and will send full instructions beforehand so you can be confident with the technology. In each module, I will demonstrate different methods and you can practice alongside and ask questions as we go. Classes will be limited to 10 people so I can give students individual attention. You will need paint, sponges, brushes and a practice board or paper to work on.
