These two classes are all about on-the-job face painting – something Monique Lily has plenty of experience with, both from parties and big events.

‘Between 2014 and 2019, I was part of the amazing face painting team at the Texas State Fair, working long days with endless lines and all kinds of faces to paint. Those years really taught me how to stay creative under pressure, work with timing, and still bring joy and beauty to every design.

So whether you’re just starting out or already working at parties or festivals, I’d love to share what’s helped me the most: understanding the face, creating designs that flow, and building a kit (and mindset!) that’s ready for anything. Can’t wait to see you in class!’ (Monique Lily)

Week 1 – Strategy and Flow Awareness

We’ll explore different kinds of gigs – birthday parties vs. fast-paced festivals – and how each situation requires a different approach. You’ll learn how to:

✨ Prepare for various on-the-job settings

✨Make quick, confident design decisions

✨ Break down designs into layers: fast → cool → extra

✨ Use facial flow and placement to your advantage

Week 2 – Live Hands-On Design Jam

This week we’ll go live and paint together! I’ll show fast and beautiful design variations using your own basic kit. Together we’ll dive into:

✨ Real-time timing and layout

✨ Creating go-to versions of butterflies, superheroes and more

✨ Adjusting designs to different faces and age groups

✨ Building your personal on-the-job design library
