A masterclass for body painters who want to take their body painting to the next level. At the end of the two days you will have mastered the basic techniques in order to enhance your designs.
Learning to airbrush will open up a whole new realm of artistic possibilities, whether you paint on face or body. From stencilling to shading, from hair art to nail designs and tattoos, an airbrush will allow you to achieve amazing fantasy effects, beyond the bounds of brush or sponge.
This masterclass will not only teach you how to achieve perfect results easily with an airbrush, but will ensure that you understand airbrushing equipment in absolute detail. You will learn how to dismantle and reassemble your kit, so that you understand thoroughly how to clean and maintain it and how to use it with airbrush products for best possible results.
The class will be taught by experienced and talented body painter Sarah Scarer Smith.
Day 1
- getting to know your airbrush and how to get the best from it
- maintenance and air pressure
- trouble shooting
- basic positioning and techniques for achieving good line-work
- Basic brushstrokes – daggers, dots, lines, circles
- 3D effects utilising light and shade for realism
- colour layering and blending
- experimentation and the design led use of stencils
Day 2
- contra-indications and model consideration
- planning a design
- executing a pre-planned body art design following my demo
