Students attending this class will probably have been face painting for several years and now feel they would like to extend their skills. They should have mastery of the main techniques of face painting in regard to sponge and brush blending and good brush control.

You will need to bring a model with you, although if you make an agreement with another painter you may share a model. I may be able provide models with prior notice.

We will discuss and explore:

• research and resources
• design, planning and time management
• preparation and comfort of your model
• looking after yourself
• venue and environment of studio area
• sketching the plan on the body
• paint coverage
• brush and sponge techniques
• simple shading creating clothes
• head dressing and props
• tips for photography
• promoting your work

Foundation & Diploma courses

Façade Academy's line-up of classes includes Foundation: Modules 1 & 2. These two beginners’ face-painting classes form a complete course and a certificate is awarded on completion. Diploma: Modules 1–5. Students who complete Modules 1- 5 are awarded the Diploma certificate, and are also eligible for a free Apprentice Day with Juliet Eve at Paradise Wildlife Park. Anyone who has a Foundation certificate or is already a proficient painter can sign up for Modules 3, 4 and 5 individually or do all three to achieve a Diploma certificate. Academy Venue

Façade Academy's face painting and body painting classes take place in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, UK. Hemel Hempstead is situated close to J8 on the M1, just north of the M25. It is well served by mainline rail from Euston and National Express coaches. Each venue is booked taking into account the requirements of the specific class.

What to bring to class

• Face painting kit (except Foundation Modules 1 & 2 where we provide a free kit) • Wet wipes, wash kit, towel, own make-up • Casual clothes • Lunch (unless provided) • A camera • Willingness to paint and be painted!

FAÇADE ACADEMY ON THE ROAD

Many people and organisations choose to arrange face painting instruction at their own venue – Façade Academy and instructors are always willing to travel around the UK – and the world!
So, if you have a group of nursery staff, volunteers from your school’s PTA or a team-building event, we’ll roll out the tour bus! We offer a free place for organisers of groups. Contact Juliet for more information.
