Hassle-free Halloween bookings
Tired of driving all over town for Halloween gigs? It’s so exhausting! So why not try an appointment system instead?
I used to run around like crazy every Halloween, packing up my kit, driving to one house, then another – it was draining! Now, I book a local venue and let clients come to me. It’s a game-changer!
Here’s how it works:
-
- Choose a convenient local spot – a salon, shop, or community centre works great. Bonus if it’s on the school route for visibility!

-
- Offer a win-win – maybe the salon does special Halloween hairdos while you’re painting.
- Advertise locally – make a simple poster (use Canva or AI) with an eye-catching child-friendly image, dates, and a QR code or phone number for bookings. Use Halloween colours. As well as displaying your poster, you could do a door-to-door drop in the locality and at the local school – hand out in the playground.

-
- Pick your days wisely – Halloween night is key for trick or treating, but Fridays or weekends before/after are often chosen for parties. 4pm for children, 7 or 8pm for adults
-
- Set time slots – book 10/15 minute slots or longer for complex designs. Take calls or emails beforehand to discuss designs and plan accordingly.

- Tech–minded? – you might want to research a booking app. I personally prefer to speak to the client directly first – less chance of confusion.
-
- Add-ons – you can even up-sell fun extras like horns, bling, scars or other prosthetics.
- Team painting – I highly recommend working with another painter which helps speed things up and creates a fun vibe.
Make it easy for yourself this Halloween—keep it local, organised, and fun!
